Since we didn't have too many oportunitities to spend time relaxing at the beach we decided to spend a week on the oceanfront just swimming and getting in some quality beach time. We ended up at a campsite in Carlsbad State Park which was on the ocean front. The views were beautiful and we could walk right onto the beach. We stayed for 4 nights to be able to relax a bit. The ocean was so nice to swim in and it was beautiful right in front of our campground, with not too many people. The first day on the beach Elisabeth made a friend that she played with while we relaxed. The waves were big which made it a great place to see surfers but Elisabeth was a bit scared to go too far into the water. But once you got in the water it was so nice to swim in the waves!! The second day we went a little farther south to a beach called Moonlight Beach which was more built up then our little beach at our campground. There was a park for Elisabeth and a huge sandy beach. We went walking in the little downtown of Encinitas which was really cute. We were starving so we had a beer and nachos at a bar before heading back to our campsite. We went back to Moonlight beach again but this time the fog didn’t lift so it wasn’t as tempting to swim in the ocean. We spent the day on the beach and Antoine was really happy to do his run along the coastline.

Since this would be our last night in California then we decided to find a nice place for dinner. We ended up at The Beach House. Since we got there pretty early than we could take advantage of their awesome happy hour. We sat on the patio overlooking the ocean and had drinks with a flatbread pizza and pasta. It was an awesome place and obviously very popular since there were a ton of people there. They even had live musicians playing inside. It was the first time in the US that I had a chocolate cake dessert comparable to what we would have in France! The food was awesome and the view couldn’t have been better!! Friday we head out to Las Vegas!!
